Reminder: Complete the Visa Status Survey & Upload a copy of your Visa

OGS sent a mandatory Visa Status Survey to all students in December (unless you have already informed us that you have obtained your visa or if we know that a visa is not required based on your citizenship). Please fill out this survey as soon as possible so we know where you are in the visa process. It is imperative that you let us know if you are struggling, are in need of assistance or are delayed in applying for your visa. If this is the case, please contact OGS immediately at ogs.outbound@nyu.edu or 212-998-4242.

If you have already received your visa, OGS requires that you upload a copy using the Visa Upload. If you have not received your visa yet, please indicate this on the Visa Status Survey and then upload a copy of your visa to us once you receive it.

Otherwise, passports will not be available for pick up until the University re-opens on January 4th. It is imperative that you let us know if you are struggling, are in need of assistance or are delayed in applying for your visa. Health Requirements and Deadlines for Visiting Students

Ensuring timely completion of the health requirements allows the NYU Health Center to serve you in the best possible manner.

NYU mandates that all NYU Students, including all visiting NYU Students, complete several health requirements. To learn more about these requirements and submit your documentation online, please visit Health Requirements for Visiting Students page.

Two upcoming requirements that you need to address before break are:

  • NYU Health History Questionnaire – deadline January 15, 2017
  • NYU required Immunization Documentation- deadline January 15, 2017

Please note that NYU will accept official immunization information from your current University. You can upload a signed/stamped document in place of the Immunization form.)

If you have already mailed paper forms back to the NYU Health Center, great! If not, you can simply upload or enter the information that is currently on record with your home institutions Health Center.

If you have any questions you may contact health.requirements@nyu.edu at any time.

Submit Flight Details ASAP

If you haven’t submitted your flight details into the Study Away Confirmation Portal yet, please do so as soon as possible.  This will allow staff directly in Madrid to plan for common arrival times and keep an eye on flights to see if there are delays.  Although the deadline to submit your housing preferences has passed, you can still log in to submit your travel details.

We understand some of you have not yet booked your flight or your passport is currently with the consulate or OGS, therefore we ask that you submit your flight and passport details as soon as you are able.

In addition, please also submit these into NYU Traveler, which goes directly to NYU Public Safety.  It should only take you a few minutes and you can get started by taking the following steps:

If you have questions about filling out this form, please refer to this step-by-step guide or the tutorial video.  Should any technical problems present themselves while entering your information into NYU Traveler, you may contact traveler.support@nyu.edu for assistance.

E-Bills Received

NYU’s Office of the Bursar has now sent out electronic bills (e-bills) to all registered students for the spring semester.

All NYU Madrid students who are placed in the residence will be billed an IDENTICAL housing estimate. This is not an indication of your exact room type assignment. The estimated housing charge will be replaced with your actual housing charge as soon as assignments are finalized. Once the final housing placement has been made, the e-bill will be adjusted, resulting in either a credit or an additional charge. The final charge will appear on your e-bill within 2-3 weeks following the start of the program.

NYU Madrid students in homestays must pay a security deposit and monthly rent directly to the host family in Euros. Homestay housing charges do not appear on the NYU E-bill system.

You can expect to be notified of your assignment approximately two weeks before the beginning of your program. You will receive the address where you will be living with details and room type; information about roommates will be provided when you arrive.

Bills are due by January 5th! If you have not received an e-bill (remember, this is only sent to your NYU email account), you can still access your e-bill as follows:

  • Log into NYU Home (home.nyu.edu)
  • Click on the Academics tab, then click on Albert Login
  • Click on the “Student Center”
  • Click on the “View Bursar Account” link located under the Finances menu
  • This should link to the secure eSuite website

Please note: Students currently living on campus with meal plans will automatically see a charge on your bursar bill for spring 2017. You can have this charge removed by logging in to the meal plan portal with your Net ID and password and cancelling it.
